Designed to deal with the basic unease of being alive, this class offers a path to calm the wild winds of the mind. Reframe the brain by dropping out of the head and into the body. Practice is guided through the soft focus of the gaze to steady the spinning mind. Harness greater attention through alignment of body and elongation of breath. Expect standing poses to bring balance and attunement, seated poses for grounding and centering. Work from the outer most layers to effect the inner most consciousness. Sensitize awareness into the body and reorganize the neuro-pathways with a basic practice of coming back. Returning to smooth, easy breathing and soft focus gaze refines inner perception - especially in the midst of intensity. Delivered with a few big poses, tons of real pauses and everything in between, this practice will create a lasting equanimity, on and off the mat. Balancing pranayama and heart-based meditation to close.
Class time devoted to lecture: Less than 5 minutes
