Ashtanga Yoga is a method used to quiet the mind by harmonizing and synchronizing postures with breath. That sounds a lot like most of the other yoga we practice here in the west, right? That makes Ashtanga Yoga one of the most influential styles of practice in the yoga world today, because it serves as the basis of nearly every other style of yoga we practice. Still Ashtanga yoga it is also one of the most misunderstood yoga methods, leaving many students too fearful from ever trying. You see, all that jumping around often looks like just crazy gymnastics – but this method really does bring with it the tools to both heal and transform, with asana being just one of the limbs we practice. Bring your curiosity - and also your questions - as we explore the asana and the other limbs of Ashtanga, using this transformative counted method.
